This weekend we hosted the Week Zero event at our high school! Although the competition was cut a few hours short because of inclement snow, we still had a great time hosting the event and seeing all the robots!

Today, it's the most important machine of them all; the robot!!

Adorable

Small but mighty, the marketing team has been preparing our Chairman's submissions by writing, and writing, and writing....

Another Sponsor!? It's BAE! Does this team of BAE mentors beat Mr. Bouressa's dancing and impeccable poses?

Bonus:

To make up for some of the posts we've missed due to snow, today we're having a little something extra; Sponsor Saturday! Starting with Raytheon, who has been our sponsor for 5 years now, thanks to Mr. Bouressa!

Wow, I'm not very good at this whole making a post every day thing, am I? Oh well, we have a special treat for throwback Thursday, featuring everybody's favorite mentor! In the words of Logan, "He looks mean, and he is, but he's actually not mean sometimes, and when he is not mean, he's really helpful," it's Mark Oden, circa 2007/08!

Haha that last one is probably the face that he's gonna make when he sees this post!

Today we are featuring a very famous woman, one whose name you should all know, Sally Ride. Sally Ride was the first woman to go into space, as the operator of a robotic arm on the STS-7 space shuttle mission. She used the robotic arm to place satellites in orbit on two missions into space, one in 1983 and 1984. After Ride left NASA she became a professor at University of California and invented NASA's EarthKAM project, which allows middle school students to take photos of the Earth using a camera on the International Space Station. Ride continued to help students, particularly girls, to pursue math and science until her death in 2012. She remains a pioneer for women in technology to this day.

Some of the mech guys are working on an accelerometer which will eventually be measuring how fast our robot goes. (Obviously it will be super fast.)

Some photos from the past couple of weeks. I really can't describe this team as anything besides a bunch of goofballs!

Everybody in the mech room was too busy to take a picture... But Mr. Bouressa took a quick break for us!
